MLA Top Health Websites
The Medical Library Association's For Health Consumers and Patients page has categorized sites as being useful for general health, cancer, breast cancer, diabetes, eye disease, HIV/AIDS, or stroke.
National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine
The "For Health Care Providers" portion of this site can be found under the Health Info tab. In this section links to resources such as medicine literature reviews organized by condition and clinical practice guidelines, can be found.
National Patient Safety Foundation
This website provides patient safety information for patients and health professionals. Educational webcasts, reports, citations to recent pertinent articles, consumer tools, and a patient safety listserv can be found here.

Periodicals on the Shelves of the Kirtland Library
- The Kirtland Library has print copies of Nursing Made Incredibly Easy and Nursing 2017 dating from last year until now. Back issues may be borrowed for seven days. Current issues may be viewed in the library.
On their web sites these journals offer peer-reviewed articles, some for free and some for a fee. Before paying for an article, check with the library. We can sometimes find the articles in our databases. If we don't have it, we can see if another library has it and will let us borrow it through interlibrary loan.
