Who We Are

                     Welcome to the Writing & Citing Help Guide

This guide is a great resource. We have information about APA and MLA formats. There is a conversation about ethical writing choices and avoiding plagiarism. We even have hints and helps with grammar and mechanical issues. We have some fun little clips that will lift your lagging spirits as well. Explore and enjoy!

 

The Writing Center, the OWL & the Virtual Writing Center (VWC)

One on one writing assistance is provided in person, via email, or online in a meeting room. Contact Jon Thompson through owl@kirtland.edu with your questions and concerns or go to the Writing Center website.

The Writing Center Semester Office Hours

The Writing Center Winter 2023 Hours -  Monday and Thursday, 1pm-2pm

In Person

  • Set up an appointment by emailing owl@kirtland.edu for in-person help on the Grayling campus. 

The OWL

  • Online writing assistance. Allow 24-48 hours for a response.
  • Read the submission guidelines before submitting your paper as we have to return papers with not enough information.
  • Submit to owl@kirtland.edu

The Virtual Writing Center

  • Online face-to-face tutoring using Zoom.
  • Students should email the OWL (owl@kirtland.edu) for directions in setting up an appointment for this great service.
