1-2 Weeks Before the Exam
- Create a study guide
- Draw it - create tables, diagrams, mind maps or pictures
- Review your notes daily
- Form a study group
- Practice explaining concepts to other people
- Devote more time to your harder subjects
- Meet with the instructor
- Study in a distraction-reduced environment
- Alternate study spots - different places for the same subject helps retention
- Take short breaks
- Stay healthy, get sleep, and avoid caffeine
- Drink water
- Eat fruit like blueberries, and apples
- Keep a positive attitude
- No cramming the night before - Do a quick review and then get a good night’s sleep

Exam Week Study Tips
The Day of the Exam
- Eat a good breakfast
- Get to school early and warm up your brain with a quick review
- Make sure you have everything you’ll need for the test
- Read all the instructions before beginning the test
- Go through and answer all the questions you know for certain - save time for the hard stuff
- If you’re stuck, circle the question and come back later - sometimes the answer shows up in another question
- Neatness counts - fill in the spaces carefully
- Go back and check your answers to make sure you didn’t leave anything blank or skip any questions
- Use all the time you’re given – there are no bonus points for finishing first!
